The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is the largest state public power organization in the nation, generating 25% of New York State’s electricity – 80% of which is reliable, affordable, clean hydropower.
Committed to accelerating New York’s clean energy transition, NYPA has installed 330 high-speed chargers — with another 70 expected by 2027 — to make driving an EV more accessible across New York State. Additionally, NYPA has installed more than 1,100 chargers to support fleet electrification efforts.
Expanding the number of charging locations has made EV travel significantly easier, helped accelerate EV adoption for both general consumers and fleet operators, and reduced transportation emissions in local communities. It also makes it easier for travelers to explore New York’s tourist attractions and activities.
This progress is part of New York State’s nearly $3 billion investment in zero-emission vehicles and clean transportation.

“The New York Power Authority’s goal is to help lead the transition to driving electric by building a cleaner, healthier transportation system. We are thrilled to join Veloz at a time when building industry relationships — with state agencies, rideshare companies, and auto manufacturers — is more critical than ever. We are working together with collaborators across the EV industry to make EV’s feasible for fleet operators and everyday drivers throughout the state of New York.”
— Justin E. Driscoll, President and Chief Executive Officer, New York Power Authority
