Funding Partners

Over the last several years, Veloz has worked to bring highly impactful projects to life including our Myths Busting Myths Electric For All campaign, the recent Veloz strategic plan, survey research, and more. Projects like these would not be possible without the support of dedicated funding partners!

In 2022, Veloz was awarded a $2.5 million California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development’s (GO-Biz) ZEV Consumer Awareness Grant to fund the latest Electric For All consumer education campaign, while bringing partner organizations together in an effort to further their local work in the EV space. Additional funding was provided by Veloz members.

For the campaign, Veloz rounded up Sasquatch, a family of Martians, a unicorn and the Tooth Fairy to build on the growing public interest for EVs and help overcome the “mythical” barriers to EV adoption. Featuring live-action, practical and visual effects that bring well-known myths to life, the hilariously clever video spots were directed by Eric André — stand-up comedian, actor, producer, television host and writer most known for his Netflix movie “Bad Trip” and his comedy series “The Eric André Show.”

“The GO-Biz ZEV team is dedicated to ZEV market growth and we were thrilled to help fund Veloz’s Electric For All Myths Busting Myths campaign. California leads the nation in zero-emission passenger and goods movement and Veloz’s ongoing efforts to educate consumers play a critical role in the transition to full transportation electrification.”

In 2022, Veloz commissioned a survey of Californians to explore their views of EVs and which messages are persuasive for people to adopt them. The findings of the survey have been used by EV supporters and advocates to effectively message the benefits of electric transportation. This survey was conducted by Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates (FM3) and generously supported by ClimateWorks Foundation.

Since 2021, Veloz has been awarded general support grants, which have bolstered Veloz’s work across its programs, including the Electric For All campaign and website, events featuring industry experts, collaborative efforts such as the quarterly EV Market Report, and more.

In late, 2022 Veloz was also awarded a William and Flora Hewlett Foundation grant specifically for strategic planning efforts. After completing its fifth year in June 2022, Veloz used the financial support to conduct a strategic roadmap for the organization going forward, which included the examination and refinement of our vision, mission, values, theory of change, partnerships, and strategic priorities.
